One issue that can be avoided with a pic is that women will often say that they want long layers or short layers, but don’t really know what the two terms mean. For instance, they confuse long and short with hair length or get the two backward, thinking that short layers refers to the top layer being short. Most hair lengths can have either long or short layers. Long layers means that the distance between the shortest layer to the longest layer is longer, such as 2 to 3 inches or more; whereas, short layers refers to around an inch or less distance between layers.
